In the video posted along with the photos, Vin Diesel announced: “I am with director F. Gary Grey. We worked together 17 years ago. Right now, we’re both in a place where no one would have imagined that this could happen.”
“We are in Havana, Cuba. And you can see how beautiful this country is, with all the lovely people here. We don’t think we can do this. And now the whole crew is here. A land full of love,” continued the 48-year-old actor.
In season 8, Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto returns to his homeland of Cuba, where his whole family used to live.
The crew decided to shoot in Cuba just a few weeks after President Barack Obama made a visit to the island nation to further normalize relations between the two countries, which have been frozen since 1961.
Although the content has not been clearly revealed, but once loved faces such as Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Eva Mendes all appear in season 8.
This is also the first part to not star actor Paul Walker, after he died in a tragic traffic accident in 2013.
The film is slated to hit theaters in April 2017.
