French sports daily L’Equipe reports that United are in talks with Neymar over the upcoming transfer window as the Brazilian looks for a new destination in the summer. The same newspaper claims that Casemiro is trying to convince his countrymen to play together in the Premier League next season
When reporters asked Erik ten Hag if he could reveal any information about Neymar’s move to Old Trafford. The Dutch coach did not rule out the possibility of transferring the Brazilian player and said: “When there is news … we will let you know”.
Ten Hag wants more success
United need just one point in their last two Premier League games against Chelsea and Fulham to secure a top four spot after a season absent from the Champions League.
Ten Hag also ended a six-year wait for the club’s title in his first season in charge by lifting the League Cup in February. The Dutchman could even end his campaign in England with two titles. when Man United met Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
But Ten Hag insists the Reds’ aim must be even higher next season as they look to rekindle their former glory. “We’re on a project, we want to come back and win trophies.”
“We have won one title but we want more titles, to compete with the best teams. We are still on a journey, and think we are on the right track. Man United can always be good. more because good is not enough”.
Man United’s shy attack has lacked the firepower of Marcus Rashford in the past two games, but the England international is likely to return to Chelsea. This season Man United have relied too much on Rashford, who has scored 29 goals in all competitions, with Bruno Fernandes being the other player to hit double figures, with 11 goals.
“Yesterday he was back in training,” Ten Hag said of Rashford’s fitness after he missed the 1-0 win over Bournemouth due to illness. “He looks pretty fit but today we have to see what the results of training are, see how he recovers and then make our choice.”
