Maddox Jolie-Pitt, the 15-year-old son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, is set to serve as an executive producer on his mother’s upcoming Netflix project, “First They Killed My Father.”

The film is an adaptation of activist Loung Ung’s memoir, recounting the survival of the communist Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia, which killed two million people between 1975 and 1979. Maddox, who hails from Cambodia, has a personal connection to the subject matter.

“We’ve been coming back and forth for 17 years; it feels like a second home to me,” said Angelina Jolie at a recent press conference. “The children have close ties to the children here; many of them are their best friends. Maddox is happy to be back in his country.”

Maddox’s role as executive producer reflects his active involvement in the project. According to Jolie, “He was the one who just called it and said he was ready and that he wanted to work on it, which he did. He read the script, helped with notes, and was in the production meetings.”

This marks the Jolie family’s first joint film venture, and Maddox’s contributions earned him the credit of executive producer. With this film and Angelina Jolie’s recent announcement of her next two acting roles, Maddox is making strides in the film industry, with potential for more opportunities in the future.
