She made Australia her home for several months while filming world war II biopic Unbroken.
And returning to the country for the film’s world premiere on Monday night, Angelina Jolie was more than happy to meet and greet the locals and oblige her doting fans with photos and autographs.
The 39-year-old and her new husband Brad Pitt, 50, left their places alongside the movie’s cast members to pose up with the hoards of people lining the entrance to Sydney’s State Theatre, holding out mobile phones, tablets and cameras, to take selfies with the lucky few standing in the first row.

Fans who had been queuing for hours to catch a glimpse of the actress-turned-director called out to the star from behind the blockade.
One brought a plush koala toy to gift Angelina, while another tried to launch herself over the railings.

Fury star Brad was just as generous with his time and smiled as he took a hold of smart phones and snapped away.
The actor was dapper in a black suit and crisp white shirt as he supported his wife.
With his hair slicked back away from his forehead, he donned a pair of thick-rimmed glasses and sported some well-kept facial hair.
The red carpet appearance was the first the couple have made together since tying the knot in a secret ceremony in August.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the event, Angelina said that after her recent marriage to Brad: ‘We just feel that much closer.’

The power couple pulled up in a black Range Rover to greet their fans and stop for photos before walking the red carpet for the movie – which was largely filmed in New South Wales.
Angelina was quick to make a lasting impression as she stepped out in her strapless designer gown which featured an elegant fishtail finish.
She accessorised with diamond earrings and her trademark smile, while her long brunette hair was drawn into an elaborate chignon.
